BENTZIN 1896 WOODEN CAMERA WOOD 60X60 RAREST

Equally enormous as rarest historical BENTZIN wooden large formate camera, for 60x60cm.

What could this near to unique german made camera all do for your image !!

It was built around 1897 bei Bentzin in Görlitz/Germany, wood with brass Fittings, the special original stand wood with metal movement parts.

According to the historical experts we could consult, only 2-3 pieces have probably been produced.
The second known specimen is said to stand in a private collection in Hamburg. To our knoledge, no museum owns one.

A smaller specimen was exposed about 20 years ago temporarily in the Agfa Ludwigmuseum.
The cassette for the photopaper sheet is complete with pressure plate and rolleaux and functional.
A matte screen with wooden frame is presently beeing custom-made upon our order; so will be INCLUDED with the camera.

The lens mounted was not originally delivered with the camera, but is just shown for decoration. It does not fill 60x60 cm and is NOT INCLUDED with the camera.

Nevertheless, if you want the camera just for decoration / exhibition purposes, we can include the lens against a surcharge !

Camera and stand are not in the (bad) condition, that a 120 year old camera is expected to be in.
All parts were carefully cleaned and polished in week-long work by the present owner, about 20 years ago.

Camera with bellows fully extended about 2 metres, height with stand about 2 metres, front about 90x70 cm.
