ZEISS IKON Special classic prime slr Tessar 2,8/50 1960
Timeless classic by Zeiss, of the absolute prime camera series Contarex (word composed of Contax and Rex, latin for king).
The model Contarex Special, no. U25108, fully mechanic camera, with exchangeable finder/screen system, only 3000 pieces produced from 1960-1963.
Here a very early specimen from 1960, including early lens equally from 1960, and german instructions also from 1960.
At it’s time an almost unreachable dream for most normal amateur photographers.
Tested and working:
Shutter speeds (all running fine)
Transport lever movement (returns a LITTLE too slow)
Exposure meter (moves fine, not tested to nowadays standards)
Selftimer works only SOMETIMES correctly, in many cases starts alone and does then not release the camera
Included is the outstanding quality Tessar 2,8/50mm, version with focusing down to 30 cm.
Lens has many micro dots on outer lens surfaces, like micro coating damages, no effect whatever on performance.
Due to age, sale as pure collector’s item without guarantee.Returns only accepted, if you carry ALL shipping charges.
