The Leica I, the camera with which all began...

Here a very early specimen from 1926/27, the number 4024, with an interesting history and it's ORIGINAL documentation !!

This camera was bought in 1930 as secondhand item, trading in another Leica I with the number 34972.

In July 1932 the camera no. 4024 was modernized by Leitz in Wetzlar from model Ia to Ic. With all "modern" details at that time, means new bottom plate closure, new type release button, and new type accessory shoe.

The pictured original documents by Leitz Wetzlar and Haake & Albers proving the history of the camera are included for you in delivery. Unnessary to say, that the existence of these documents wuíth such an early Leica I can be considered more than only very rare...

Shortly after the modernization, the owner of the camera has also bought 2 new lenses for it: Elmar Nickel 3,5/50 number 179304 and Elmar Nickel 3,5/35 number 158846, both produced in 1933.

Invoice for the 2 lenses is not existent any more.

The camera has a beautiful patina and is fully usable if desired, we just had it technically overhauled on our expense. The 35mm lens had a repaired dent in the front; both lenses are also fully usable, since just technically overhauled on our expense.

The everrady case is in moderate condition: One back seed is open, and the camera fixing screw is missing. Since it is the original case, we have left it with the set.
