MINOX A IIIS GOLD SET VINTAGE LIGHT EXPOSURE METER 8X11 ORIGINAL

Early Minox, model A. Minox 8x11 miniature cameras beeing the synonym for perfect mechanical miniature camera manufacturing quality. The super-classics in miniature cameras and loved not only by private users but also by most secret services until the 1980ies all over the world, on both sides of the iron curtain.
The Minox A was produced from 1948 on, at the beginning priced at horrendous 525.-DM (shortly after the war not many people had money for such things). At the beginning of the 50ies the price was reduced to 375 and substantial quantities could be sold; the beginning of the success story of Minox.
Featuring a fully mechanical shutter with speeds 1/2-1/1000th + B. Focusing from 20cm to Infinity. The top performing 4-element Complan lens 3,5/15mm had an enourmous depth-of-field; in the red-marked snapshot position all was sharp from 2 metres to infinity. The shortest distances are measured by the measuring chain. 2 filters were included in the construction and could be shoved in front of the lens: Green and orange.

Here at offer: The very rare original gold-plated version, no. 78360, with corresponding original gold-plated lightmeter. Much more heavy than the standard versions, a real highlight in any high-class collection and a superb massive feeling when holding and handling it. A normal A weighing about 69 grams, this gold-plated version nearly the double, about 118 grams.
Also included are two original leather cases for camera and lightmeter, as well as the original chains with their original end-pieces (the camera chain is partly defective because the connecting piece is missing).

Exposure meter moving vividly (always stored in the dark with us, for protecting the selenium cell), camera shutter fine also at long speeds.

Please observe: Beautiful condition, better in reality than it looks on the pictures, since the lamps reflect on the guilded metal.
